Super happy with our share at IGNITE NY!
Glad we got a chance to squeeze last minute into the lineup.
It was lovely to start the event on a positive and uplifting note, and to see the waves of people roll into the space as we sang out tunes. Some old friends, and lots of new faces. Many folks, one community.
And now, we are 5 days into 2024, and have already met with two different groups for rehearsals. We got a ton of interest from new musicians wanting to Join the Band, and a completely new ensemble for our show on January 19th at BOCO Cider.
In the last week we also got a chance to try out two violin players, and a new guitar player as well, all of them where excellent additions, and now it’s just a matter of perfecting the songs, and finding the space for them to join our upcoming events.
The process of finding musicians is truly flourishing, without going into too much detail, I would estimate that by now we have received over 50 applications to Join the Band, and at this pace I imagine we’ll get well over 100 more throughout 2024.
When I first started posting invitations to Join the Band on Craiglist my expectations where pretty low. To my surprised, we have landed multiple gems from those ads, and now that we are also posting on Facebook, our reach has grown exponentially, and the talent continues to flow.
Playing with all these new musicians over the last few months has also allowed me to take some huge strides forward on my own understanding of the songs we play, as well as improving our band’s systems for acquiring talent, bringing people onboard, and getting our name into the scene.
It truly feels like we got the wind on our backs, and I am feeling super optimistic about our 2024 Tour, and the release of our debut album “Remember Your Divinity”.
These last few weeks I’ve also made some big leaps ahead setting up our Patreon Page, as well as the foundation for the album’s crowdfunding campaign. It always feels like a ton of work, and the tasks are pretty much infinite, so I am doing as much as I can, trying to prioritize, and keep stress levels to a minimum.
There is so much I want to do, and so much I want to share, and feels like all the work I did over the last year is clearly taking root, and growing into a beautiful blossom.
Hopefully I get to share much more with you soon. It is my intention to also up my social media game in 2024, and to write blogs like this on a regular basis, to process the journey, integrate, and bring you along with us in this journey to remember our divinity.
