Guru Purnima Celebration @ The Humming Home – July 10th

Join us in celebrating Guru Purnima with Kirtan and Medicine Music by Divino BetSatori.

Guru Purnima is a traditional Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist festival dedicated to spiritual and academic teachers. It is celebrated to honor and express gratitude to teachers, or “gurus,” for their guidance and wisdom. The festival typically involves rituals, prayers, and offerings to teachers, both living and past, acknowledging their role in one’s personal and spiritual growth.

Doors open at 6pm, be sure to arrive by 6:45pm at the latest. We’ll start promptly at 7pm. 

This is a FREE event, but space is limited. If you would like to join us be sure to send us a message via our contact page. If there is still space available, we will email you back with the address and parking directions. 

We are hoping to do a fire ceremony outside on our patio. This will depend on fire ban and wind conditions. 

Please be sure to follow the following rules and guidelines.
Most of it is common sense, but best to communicate ahead of time. 

#1 : Absolutely no glass on the property, our kids walk barefoot all over the place and don’t want to risk any glass being shattered on the ground. 

#2 : Please refrain from moving any sticks or rocks, or cutting any branches, no matter how small. Everything has a place in the property as part of our Intuitive Landscaping Permaculture Project. 🙂

#3 : Property lines are not marked. You are welcome to walk around, but please stay within 200 meters from our neighbor’s homes. 

#4 : There is plenty of parking space, so be sure you park without blocking anyone’s access. Do not park in front of the garage, and if you park on the street, be sure to do it on our side of the road, and not across the street. 

#5 : Do not place anything inside the fire, or poke the fire, unless you are serving as a fire tender. 

#6 : You are welcome to pee anywhere in the property. You can also use the bathroom downstairs, or either bathroom upstairs, BUT we have sensitive pluming, so PLEASE only TP in the toilet. 

#7 : Our neighbors are cool with our events, but out of respect, we’ll try to finish music outside by 9… 10pm at the latest. You are all welcome to stay by the fire and keep it mellow out there, or go inside the house and get as rowdy as you want. Doors close at midnight, right before we turn into pumpkins. 🙂

#8 : We plan on making a simple meal for everyone (rice and veggies), so we can eat together after the ceremony (around 9pm)… if you would like to make a contribution, you are welcome to bring any fresh fruits or veggies, but please do not bring any animal products or processed foods, and be sure to wash your dishes after use (the dishwasher does not work). It would be awesome to have a few volunteers to help out. 

We need one or two people to help direct parking, one or two people to serve as fire tenders, and one or two people to help with food prep.

We also need as many volunteers as possible to help us gather wood, and if you feeling strong and want to help us move some heavy rocks, it would be awesome to have some help with that.
