Yes! Our circle is expanding as we reach out into oneness!
This time we got invited to share kirtan for Dr. Manoj Chalam’s bhakti yoga workshop at Soul Tree Yoga in Lafayette.
And what a delight it was! Our first day we got to play with Todd and Lindsey, and for day two I brought Eko along, as well as most of my collection of bhakti yoga books.
It’s always a delight to hear from those who have been steeped in the practice, and Dr. Manoj is certainly one to listen and learn from.
But perhaps, more than his knowledge of Sanskrit, and insight into the meanings of the deities, what I enjoyed most, was his feeling of devotion, not only to these archetypes, but mainly to his audience, our fellow yoga students.
It was such a fun time with Manoj, and such a deep connection, that I couldn’t help gifting him one of our twin Hanuman murtis, which we got via Ram Dass’ online store. And in return, Eko received a beautiful Ganesha statue, which I plan on bringing with us to all our upcoming kirtan events.
Now and then I realize how crazy it is to see where I’ve ended up, dedicating a huge part of my life to these practices, so much so that it is my favorite thing to share with my family. From morning to evening, there is little I enjoy more than playing kirtan and medicine songs with my son Eko. To be able to take that experience outside our home, and share with so many, it really is a blessings. Seeing, and feeling, how our shares affect people, we feel truly blessed.
And we are just getting started!
… After the workshop Dr. Manoj approached me with an invitation to join him in San Diego, to share kirtan at his ashram and workshops, potentially traveling with him around the United States, as he gives lectures to thousands of people.
Yes, for now it’s just a dream, but little by little, the pieces fall into place. Surely there is a sense of accomplishment, a feeling of “it’s finally happening”, and at the same time, an overwhelming realization that none of this is Bruno’s doing, but merely God’s play, and Maharaji’s blessings, guiding us on these path of bhakti yoga, to free our hearts, release our minds, and re-unite (or perhaps realize our ever present union) with the divine.
So we keep grinding along, attending all events we can, sharing as much music as possible, and writing blog posts for our website and social media accounts, even if the clock shows 1:15 am.
